The intro "We Are Monster High" music video was released to the Monster High YouTube channel on June 6, 2013. A behind-the-scenes short about the singer heard in the music video, Madison Beer, followed on July 2, 2013. The music video consists of two segments, one split in two by the other. The first segment is of Catty Noir, debuting in her CGI form and announcing the release of the new Monster High theme song: "We Are Monster High" by Madison Beer. Following this, the song plays. Its accompanying visuals are the song's lyrics presented in a lively environment. Once the song is over, the screen returns to Catty, who notes that another music video is in the planning and that Monster High fans have a chance to star in it, though details are yet to come.
As the Freaky Fab 13 updates of June and September, Mattel hosted a video dance contest with which people could earn a spot in a second, fan-centric "We Are Monster High" music video. The contest was international, with one winner chosen from the following countries: Mexico, Italy, France, United States of America (two winners), Spain, Poland, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Brazil, Greece, and Portugal.
