Lured by its ultra-modern cities, freaky-fab fashions and scary-serene gardens, Draculaura decides to spend a scaremester in Shibooya, Japan.
Monster High is hosting an exchange program, offering students the chance to spend a scaremester at a foreign school. Draculaura and Lagoona visit the main hall, where several representatives have put up booths to promote their country. Draculaura is overwhelmed by all the choices, and can't decide where to go.
Abbey, hosting her own booth, suggests that she goes to Himalaya High in the Himalayas. Draculaura envisions herself visiting the icy school in the winter clothes she's always wanted to wear. But after imagining herself eating giant snow cones and frozen food in the Creepateria, she decides she'd rather go somewhere less cold. She also wants to see lots of art and culture, so Lagoona suggests visiting Madread, Spain. Draculaura imagines herself sightseeing and admiring the art and buildings, but is freaked out when she imagines meeting a dragon with a distorted, Picasso-like face.
Lagoona suggests Direland, Scargentina and the Doominican Republic, but Draculaura is worried that she'll miss out on something good if she picks the wrong place. A ghost samurai appears and suggests she visits Shibooya, Japan, as it has a bit of everything: Modern cities, serene zen gardens, and amazing fashion. Draculaura daydreams about touring the city, walking on the runway in a fashion show, and even having an anime version of herself on TV. She decides that Shibooya is the best destination for her. Lagoona also points out that it's the only destination she can pick; because she spent so much time imagining her travels, all the other booths have packed up and gone home.
Some time later, Draculaura travels to Japan and stands at the entrance of her host school, worried that maybe she's made a wrong choice and she won't fit in. But when she enters the school and discovers that most of the other students are vampires with colored hair like her, she knows she'll be just fine.
