Description

Volume 3, Game of DeNile: The ghouls conjure up their competitive spirits to play Cleo's favorite sleepover game.

Summary

Frankie, Clawdeen, Draculaura, Ghoulia, and Abbey are all attending a sleepover at Cleo's house. While they're discussing things to do, Cleo brings up her favorite game, Gargoyles to Gargoyles. When Abbey questions it, Clawdeen mentions that they play it every time they come over, adding an annoyed look.

Cleo brings up the fact that she's undefeatable, and we soon learn why. The ghouls, one by one all purposely eliminate themselves, and even feign disappointment. Soon, only Cleo and Abbey are left in the game. The ghouls take Abbey aside and tell her that they actually love Gargoyles to Gargoyles, but Cleo is super competitive and it would just be easier to let her win. Seeing no point in this, Abbey refuses.

When the game gets heated, tension rises between Abbey and Cleo. However, Abbey comes out on top and eliminates Cleo. The ghouls cringe as Cleo seemingly bursts into anger, but instead she is actually relieved to lose. She's happy that there's finally a "worthy competitor", and exclaims that they'll be playing all night. Relieved, all the ghouls join in.

Notes

  • The name "Gargoyles to Gargoyles" seems to based off the name of the card game "Apples to Apples", which is currently published by Mattel. The two games do not resemble each other rule-wise.
  • Although Ghoulia is present, she does not speak and does not participate in the game.
  • Ghoulia's Dead Tired animation model uses the head model of her 'Basic look', meaning that rather than red glasses and her hair in a ponytail, she wears white glasses and her hair held back by a headband.
  • The title of the webisode is a play on the word 'denial', which Cleo's last name sounds like.
