Rochelle usually is the one to take Frido, the class pet, home with her during the weekend, but she has the Gargoylympics to go to this particular weekend. As such, she's looking for someone who can take care of him this time. Draculaura wonders aloud who would say no to "such a luxurious coat", which Cleo overhears. She immediately volunteers, thinking she'll get a coat, but doesn't back out when that turns out not to be the case. Rochelle instructs her to abide by three rules: never give Frido cheese to eat, keep him warm, and never let him near electricity. Cleo is a little overwhelmed, but her friends offer to assist her.

With all three rules broken, Frido gets hyperactive. Cleo gets a call from Rochelle, to whom she lies that everything is going well. To her horror, Rochelle announces she'll come to get Frido in a moment. The girls quickly run after him, only to find him in the middle of the living room as a skeleton motionless lying among his shedding fur. As the girls are mourning, Rochelle steps into the room. They try to apologize and console her for the loss of Frido, but Rochelle assures the rest of the girls that Frido's perfectly fine--as it would seem, Frido's not dead: he's just hibernating (basically sleeping). Rochelle elaborates by explaining that since the girls had (unintentionally) broken the rules she had set out for them, it just made Frido start his hibernation process a week earlier than he normally would've (Frido then briefly wakes up, revealing that Rochelle's telling the truth). The girls, especially Draculaura, are relieved by this. [Source]

Rochelle and Twyla are enjoying the swim meet that Sirena and Lagoona are participating in, but Rochelle is upset at how, being a stone gargoyle, she would just sink to the bottom of the pool. She is amongst the students who get Spectra's latest blog regarding the lie from Toralei about the Wolf siblings having were-fleas. Later on, Rochelle is among the ghouls whom Draculaura turns to for help when she finds herself haunted by a ghost and following Spectra back to her old school, Haunted High. When Spectra is captured to be incarcerated in Haunted High by Principal Revenant and her Hall Moanitors for bringing "solids," or non-ghosts, to the school, Rochelle becomes a ghost using Twyla's father's Boogey Sand to go back to Haunted High and save her. However, while looking for the right sand, Rochelle becomes the victim of another sand, leaving her as a blob monster after the last one before being turned into a ghost with the right sand. After being taught how to control her ghost form by Vandala and River, Rochelle can do what she could not do as a stone gargoyle and takes a dive into Haunted High's swimming pool, something she always wanted to do. Later, she and the other ghouls take cover in a secret room belonging to Porter, but he apparently sells them out to Revenant, and Rochelle is incarcerated with Detention Chains until Porter reveals he swiped the key Revenant uses on the chains and transfers the ghouls' chains to himself as punishment for his betrayal. Rochelle frees her fellow Monster High students incarcerated at Haunted High, returns to Monster High, and helps Kiyomi with sending River's hijacked skiff and the Hall Moanitors back to Haunted High. When she returns there, Rochelle is witness as Revenant, revealed to be the Red Lady of ghost legend, repents for her past crimes, and promises to lose her chains through honest means from now on. Rochelle is returned to her normal stone gargoyle form and joins in the celebrations of the newfound friendship between Monster High and Haunted High. [Source]

Under a big top tent, Headless Headmistress Bloodgood introduces the students to the Freak du Chic, a circus being performed by Frankie Stein, Jinafire Long, Rochelle Goyle, Honey Swamp, Toralei Stripe, and the school's newest student, Gooliope Jellington. To explain how the ghouls became circus performers, Frankie takes us back to a couple of days ago...

Bloodgood meets with Monster High's unpleasant accountant Mr. Grunderson, who informs her that the school is low on money. To save money, he intends to cancel the art programs. Bloodgood is shocked at the decision, but Grunderson happily tells her the Board of Deaducation have given him full authority to shut down whatever he wants, and he tells the students to pack up their things.

Meanwhile, in the Monster High storage room, a mysterious figure wanders around, fiddling with the boxes and trunks. Saddened, Frankie, Toralei, Jinafire, Rochelle, and Honey carry their boxes to the storage room, leading the mysterious figure to hideaway. Toralei complains about Mr. Grunderson's decision and proclaims she wants to bring the classes back, to which Frankie suggests that they could hold a fundraiser to raise money to save the art programs, and Toralei, naturally, feels weird for agreeing with her. As they look for items that could help them, the entire room suddenly shakes, and they spot a nervous Gooliope hiding behind a pile of boxes.

Gooliope introduces herself and spots a trunk she had been looking for, filled with circus props. She explains she used to be part of the traveling circus Freak du Chic before joining Monster High. Frankie gets the idea of performing their own Freak du Chic at the school and using the ticket sales to save the art programs. Gooliope offers to help by creating all the costumes and props they'll need to host their own circus.

Later on, as she watches the ghouls struggle to practice their performances, she realizes there's still a lot of work to do... [Source]

Mr. Grunderson storms down the halls of Monster High as Clawdeen complains about the loss of the arts programs. Twyla, next to her, adds that she will never show off her stilt skills because of that decision. That moment the lights go off. Surprising everyone, one by one, spotlights light up over each member of the 'permanent' Freak du Chic: Frankie, Rochelle, Toralei, Jinafire, Honey, and Gooliope, which introduces herself and the circus fundraiser she and the crew are about to organize. The students in the halls get excited. Clawdeen and Twyla plan to help at the show too, only Grunderson is not too amused.

At the Board of Deaduction officer, Grunderson shows the Skullastic Superintendents the Freak du Chic posters, demanding for such activity to be canceled due to lack of authorization. However, Headless Headmistress Bloodgood and Nightmare storm in the room and demand the show to be authorized. The Skullastic Superintendents decide that the arts program will then be closed if the show isn't ready that night.

Bloodgood immediately warns the Freak du Chic crew, which isn't happy with the decision, claiming they're not prepared. Bloodgood asks them to show of their talents. Frankie performs well but Honey gets tangled in her marionette strings, going against Frankie and knocking Toralei over, causing her ball to bump on Jinafire who falls over Rochelle. Bloodgood starts to worry, however Clawdeen and Twyla enter the room and ask for help to enter the show, to which Gooliope responds 'The more the merrier'. [Source]

Disappointed with the show's quality, the students evolved in the fundraising activities sit inside the big tent, miserable over their failures. However, Gooliope gives an inspirational speech claiming that a world without the arts is boring and that the ghouls wouldn't want to be in such a situation, calling the ghoul's confidence back up. She then proceeds to tell them that what they've been doing wrong all this time was that, instead of focusing on the show as a whole and as a group activity, the ghouls were too worried about their own success.

The flashback ends, going back to present times, where Bloodgood presents the crew and shows the crowd how they can make donations to bring back the art program, using their iCoffins to raise money until midnight. The Freak du Chic starts, each student performing wonderful tricks and helping each other while creating not just a group of small performances but also a big performance.

The crowd is going wild, and the fundraising goal is almost covered. Mr. Grunderson, not amused, interrupts the show five minutes to the end and claims that the show will never make it in time; the cuts are solely for the student's own good. However, his speech is stopped when a mild earthquake interrupts the show, making Grunderson question. Frankie explains that it's, in fact, Gooliope, who is wobbling since she is irritated by the accountant's words. Grunderson loses his balance and is thrown around the tent by various circus objects, only to fall in Gooliope's trunk and be spitted afterward, only he comes out fully dressed as a clown. The crowd cheers, making the troll confused but happy since he had never received so much love before, making him realize that the arts are indeed important. The donations boom, and the arts program is safe. The crew celebrates, and the crowd cheers. [Source]
