The Coffin Bean is then shown again, full with customers and a line out the door. Nefera, not realizing what's going on first, sees what's happening now and is angered by her sister's success. Draculaura's then shown giving orders to some of the customers, and then Nefera's shown again when a mob of zombies comes by towards the Coffin Bean. At first, Nefera tries to prevent them from entering, but she gets trampled by them. Frankie goes to the device that's keeping track of all the money earned and excitedly shouts that they've actually exceeded way beyond Cleo's goal and made it way past the top of the device.

Everyone celebrates the fear squad's success. Nefera's then shown the aftermath of getting trampled by the zombies, and Toralei walks up to her. Toralei then jokes that it seems that the amulet was actually her "bad luck charm" rather than Cleo's. Nefera accidentally drops the amulet, and it breaks, and then Nefera's shown with a troubled expression, knowing what's going to happen now that the amulet's broken. [Source]

Gil is preparing for a date with Lagoona, and he did not expect his parents to try to talk him out of it last minute. Exasperated to have this talk again, Gil rejects their claims that sea monsters are ill-mannered and selfish. He recalls when he and Lagoona took care of an egg, and the time Lagoona helped frogs escape death-for-dissection to put strength behind his words.

Next, Gil gets to the accusation that Lagoona can't be trusted on account of her species. Declaring Lagoona the best friend anyone could ever ask for, he recounts incidents with Frankie and Slo Mo in which Lagoona went out of her way to comfort or help them.

Gil's parents are still not convinced, but Gil can't be bothered. He tells them he won't stop seeing Lagoona or cancel the date before leaving his room angrily. To his parents' relief, he comes back a moment later, but to their disappointment, only to get the bouquet for Lagoona he had forgotten. Promising to be back early, Gil leaves his parents to wallow in their disapproval alone. [Source]

Draculaura tries to arrange a date with Clawd for later that day, but Clawd says he can't make it because he will be studying with Romulus, though he can't specify which class. Draculaura thinks he acts weird and mentions the rejected date to her friends. Cleo is not surprised, elaborating that Deuce told her he and Clawd had promised Hackington to help repair his hearse. This confuses Lagoona, who corrects that the boys are going to Gil's house to work on a rap album. As if the three different stories weren't enough of a clue they'd been lied to, the 'rap album'-part convinces all present that something fishy is going on.

Following the noise of tough talk, the girls find the boys... playing a board game and playing it pretty seriously, no less. Perplexed but also relieved, Cleo proposes to leave them to their game, but Lagoona objects, saying that the spectacle is hilarious. As the boys continue with their play battle, unaware they're being watched, the girls get themselves popcorn. [Source]

Frankie takes her friends into the corn maze at Monster High to get the best time through it. Her friends aren't as thrilled about the activity as she is until Gil points out that the winners will have their photo placed in the Gory Gazette. Now interested, the group is interrupted by the werecats, who hold the current record of thirty minutes. The trio mocks the group for even thinking they can beat them, but the group is not intimidated.

Inside the maze, the group discusses which route to take when Heath offers a round of popcorn. He picks a corncob and roasts it with his hair, but the popcorn carries the flames over to map Frankie's holding. With no map, not only is it unlikely the group will be at the current record, but it is also uncertain they'll ever get out of the maze at all. The situation starts looking better when they find Manny Taur also walking around in the maze. Because he is a minotaur, his fellow students assume he can easily get them out of the maze and go after him. However, the werecats, who have followed the group to prevent them from breaking their record, throw corn on the path, causing a flock of crows to gather to eat the corn and block the path. Luckily for the group, Manny's footprints are still visible, and they can still follow him.

Elsewhere, the werecats unleash three demonic canines to hunt the group, which has just caught up with Manny. Manny is crying to himself and, when asked why, confesses that he is the only one in his whole family who cannot find his way out of a maze. Also, he's terrified of the creatures lurking in the maze. Just then, the canines catch up with the group, and Manny runs for his life right through the corn walls out of the maze. The group quickly takes the path he cleared and leaves the maze, setting a new record of 29 minutes. While the group has their picture was taken, the canines within the maze turn on the werecats. The boys in the corridor, waiting in line to be the first bake sale customers, try to fight the creature, but even Deuce's gorgon stare doesn't stop it. Almost all of them are subsequently eaten by the cookie dough monster, but when it's Heath's turn to become a snack, the monster's weakness is found: heat. Heath quickly bakes the monster to death, after which all his friends and Mr. Hackington emerge alive from the cookie spill. Frankie spots the nail polish bit that caused all the trouble, revealing that Cleo is to blame. When Headless Headmistress Bloodgood arrives and orders the mess to be cleaned up, everyone agrees that to be Cleo's job. Cleo takes solace in the fact that at least the cookie spill contains chocolate chips. [Source]

Gil finally receives his invite, and though he cannot refuse his girlfriend, he makes no secret that he doesn't want to go and fears Lagoona's parent's reaction to a freshie like him.

Lagoona and Gil discuss the matter on board later, with Gil being adamant that the seas and oceans are scary places where everything tries to harm you. Lagoona is exasperated; he thinks so badly of her home but has to swallow her words when the ship is attacked by a Kraken and sinks, leaving the group stuck on a small raft.

Lagoona's suspicion grows again when Farnum refuses her entry to his boat to check the maps on the distance between Skull Shores and the Great Scarrier Reef. That evening, she and a reluctant Gil sneak aboard to figure out what Farnum's up to and find a recording of the beast and the explorer who befriended him, finding out that Farnum is using Frankie as bait to capture the beast, they then rush off to warn their friend.

However, the group is surprised to see Gil rise from the water. Gil demands that Farnum releases his friends, to which Farnum asks how he intends to enforce his demand. Gil reveals he's not alone - with him is a small army of dolphins as well as the Kraken that destroyed the students' boat. This time, the Kraken destroys Farnum's boat, picks up the crook, and flings him into the jungle. Kipling runs after his master, despite Lagoona's plea for him to stay. Gil explains that he ran and swam off to the Great Scarrier Reef to ask Lagoona's parents for help with the threat gone. They talked to the Kraken, who felt sorry for what he had done and not only agreed to save Lagoona and co. But also to fix the boat he had destroyed. The students resume their journey, taking Andy with them. Lagoona is ecstatic about the courage and reliability Gil showed her, but also happy he finally stopped being scared of her parents and her home. [Source]

After the theme song, Heath and Manny go into the course in replace of Deuce and Gil. Clawd and Rocco are basically neck and neck during the course, determined to win for their school. Rocco and Gary then notice Heath and Manny and are somewhat distraught, only before Rocco declare that they might as well finish off Monster High, who, according to him, 'plays like a bunch of girls' (this statement, oddly enough, saddens the completely masked player behind them). After going through yet another course, Gary pulls out a red cloak from almost nowhere, obviously causing Manny to become infuriated and skate furiously after it, thus ramming straight into Heath, and the both of them are out. One of the Granite City players, the masked one, is startled and trips over them and is left behind by the team, who, yet again, cheats more discreetly. While neck and neck with Clawd, one of Rocco's skates mechanically remove a wheel from Clawd's, and the last member of the MH SKRM Team falls to the ground right before crossing the finish line thus allowing Granite City to win the game.

Fast forward to a few days, in which the students of MH are all distraught about the loss while Venus, like always, is encouraging her fellow classmates to get motivated to save the Earth. Luckily, she manages to somewhat spread the word to Frankie and Clawdeen. Abbey is confused about why everyone is so upset about the game, but Clawdeen tells her it's bigger than she knows. Toralei is then, apparently, the only one happy about how the Gargoyles of all monsters won. Clawdeen confronts her about how she could turn her back on her school, but Toralei is her usual cocky self, rubbing the victory in the ghouls' faces. Abbey, frustrated, freezes the werecat's phone and tells her to watch herself, but of course, Toralei could care less as she leaves them.

The movie ends with a roll call of the new co-ed team: Clawd, Operetta, Manny Taur, Gil Webber, Lagoona Blue, Heath Burns, Rochelle Goyle, and Robecca Steam. [Source]

Lagoona visits the pool and chats with Sirena, admitting she'll miss her friends and Gil once she travels. They see Gil chatting with Lorna, and Lagoona asks him if he wants to go shopping with her. But Lorna says that Gil promised to help her out with a problem. Lagoona lets them go, and Sirena is surprised that she doesn't feel jealous about them hanging out. Lagoona states she's fine but looks at the two suspiciously...

Throughout the day, Lagoona sees Gil and Lorna spending time together and becomes increasingly distressed. She admits to Sirena that she really does feel jealous, especially since she knows Gil's parents would be glad if Gil dumped her for a freshwater monster like Lorna. Sirena suggests she just talks to Gil about it, but she doesn't want to look like she doesn't trust him. Even though she's starting to lose that trust as she sees Gil and Lorna head for the pool.

They confront Gil, and he tells them what's really going on; Lorna has a boyfriend she talks to online named Finn, who is a saltwater merman, and Gil has been helping her find a way to tell her father about their relationship since he knows all about the problems she faces from his time with Lagoona. Embarrassed, Lagoona claims she knew all about what they were really doing and gives Gil the conch shell, claiming it's a gift for him to remember her by when she leaves.

The next day, Lagoona is at her host school, Don Queijote High, in Madread, talking to Gil via their iCoffins. Gil is glad that Lagoona is enjoying herself, and shows he's still thinking of her by showing off the shell she gave him. [Source]

Gil asks if he could try something. Later that night, he appears at Lorna's door in his tuxedo and asks her if she would like to go to the dance with him as friends. Lorna is delighted to accept but realizes she has nothing to wear. The other ghouls immediately rush in to help her find an outfit.

The dance is in full swing, and Lorna and Gil are having fun dancing. As they discuss how excited they are about the Corpse Flower blooming, Cleo overhears and states that she knew a corpse flower once, and she thinks they stink. Just as Gil wishes aloud that Lagoona was here to join them, Lagoona suddenly appears, and is shocked to see Gil and Lorna together. Draculaura also appears, just returned from her trip to Shibooya, and notes the very awkward atmosphere... [Source]

The story returns to where the last episode left off, with Lagoona returning from her trip to Madread early to attend the dance with Gil, only to find him dancing with Lorna. Gil and Lorna attempt to explain, but Lagoona runs off in tears. Gil chases after her while the other students realize the Corpse Flower is about to bloom...

Gil finds Lagoona at the swimming pool and explains he only took Lorna to the dance as a friend to help cheer her up. Lagoona apologizes for making a scene, explaining she had been looking forward to surprising him and watching the Corpse Flower bloom. Realizing there's still time, she leads Gil back to the garden.

They join the other students just as the Corpse Flower blooms open. To everyone's surprise, they discover a plant ghoul is resting inside the flower. To Cleo's horror, she recognizes the ghoul as Amanita Nightshade.

Amanita is delighted that the dance is thrown in her honor, and she recognizes Cleo in the crowd. When the others ask if they know each other, Cleo angrily admits that she knew Amanita when they were 'tombmates' together long ago. Amanita laughs and calls Cleo a wallflower without a date, but Cleo introduces Deuce as her boyfriend. Amanita immediately takes a liking to him and drags him away for a dance, much to Deuce's confusion.

The night ends with Lagoona and Gil sharing a slow dance, while Cleo and Amanita both fight to dance with Deuce. [Source]
