The students are initially skeptical about their need to be there for the tree, until Venus reminds them that the tree symbolizes their history. Spectra remembers the great stories she wrote under the tree, Manny notes he lost five soccer balls to the tree's branches, Ghoulia thinks back on all the times she studied under the tree, and Draculaura and Clawd recall how the tree was part of their first date. As the students share their individual experiences with the tree, his roots plunge back into the soil and leaves sprout from his branches. With no doubt that the tree has been revitalized, the students celebrate. [Source]

While Draculaura is watching Clawd and cheering for him at the casketball game against octopus monsters, while she asks Iris Clops if she saw that (specifically something dominating that Clawd did), she soon notices Iris fawning over Manny Taur, the school's main champ, next to Clawd. Draculaura then exclaims: "My ghoul! You have a crush on Manny Taur!" To Iris's reply is that "no, she doesn't". Then Draculaura tells her that she can the look she can’t fool her, and that she can see "the look in her eye". Then Iris proclaims: "It's silly. I’m a woman of science. And Manny…  he's Manny." Draculaura says "come on" and then Iris asks that if it is too weird, and that her and Manny's families are too friends, and–she is suddenly cut off to say "hi, Manny" to which he replies "Oh, hey Iris", and then then says: "Good game, huh?" to which she replies: Go team! and blushes in a lovey-dovey manner. Then Draculaura goes over to her boyfriend, Clawd, to which he asks her why she's all smiles. Draculaura tells him that she just set up Manny and Iris, and when Iris is talking to him, he suddenly notices the mascot's red lobster-costume, to which he gets admittedly anger at. Iris then says she knew it was a mistake, and Draculaura tells her that he just got "distracted". Iris then attempts to make another move in the creepateria, asking Manny if the seat is taken, to which he responds: "Hey Iris!" Suddenly, a lunch lady with red devil's food ice cream cake, and Manny gets so furious that he runs into it. Then, Iris tries to succeed again with asking him to carry her books to class for her. Manny says yes, but then he gets distracted by a vampire from Belfry Prep with his cape's red inside showing, so Manny then gets angry and runs off.

Then Draculaura says she doesn't understand, and that Manny clearly likes Iris, to which Iris's respond is that she doesn't know and that he keeps getting "distracted”. Then Draculaura exclaims that minotaurs are just like bulls and they can't help chasing things that are red, which Draculaura holds up a red book, saying "watch". Then Iris complains that to keep Manny's attention is to get rid of every red thing in the entire school, then sarcastically calling it easy. Draculaura then says she's got a better idea, where Iris wears a red top to get his attention, and she counts down from three, to which Manny notices her red shirt and complaints it. Manny tells says that is a nice color on her. Then Iris giggles and asks: "Will you walk me to Mad Science class?" Manny replies with a nose snort, "Sure!". They walk hand-in-hand happily and merrily. [Source]

Clawdeen says "Hey Iris" to Iris at the school's entrance, to which she replies to all her, Ghoulia, Draculaura, and Cleo, "Hey ghouls." Then Cleo tells Iris that Draculaura told them that she's been dating Manny for the last two weeks, and that Cleo wants all the juicy gossip. Iris says: "Manny's… nice." Ghoulia asks about dates in Zombie, to which Iris says "kinda", to which the scene flashes to Manny and Iris playing casketball together (without the guys) and Manny boosts with his own name about winning. Iris says "We have been playing a lotta games together… which… he… wins." Then an idea comes to Iris, and she says he takes her to lunch "all the time", to which the scene flashes to Manny chowing and gorging down with Heath and Clawd. And that last night, he took her "dancing", to which the scene flashes to Manny and the guys "dancing". Then Iris says, "If you could call it dancing." Then Cleo asks Iris if Manny is just bringing her around to do guy stuff with his friends, an Clawdeen determinedly says: "Ghoul–you got to tell him that tonight, you two are doing something that you wanna do!" Then, Manny is about to come over, and Draculaura tells: "Hear me comes now! Tell him!" When Manny comes over, he thinks that tonight he thought they might "sit outside and look at the stars" as Iris says, but Manny says: "Uh, yeah. Uh, no" and tells her that he promised the guys that he would go down and meet them in the Catacombs to search for "gross bugs". When Manny says: cool, huh?, Iris instantly gets very angry and very sad, and says: "No, Manny! I'm. Not. Meeting. You, anywhere! Because we're through!" and runs off crying. Manny tells the Ghouls that he's confused, and Draculaura calmly asks him "Manny, have you ever done thing that was Iris's idea?" then slightly firmly says: "without the guys?" Manny says: "Yup, um, nope." Then Manny is crying out: "What am I gonna dooooo?!" Ghoulia soon attracts a firefly that Manny had come out of his jar with her own juice with a water dropper, and Ghoulia snaps her fingers to have the firefly light up. So Manny asks her if she thinks Iris will like that, to which Ghoulia moans a "yes". The ghouls are with Iris in the Catacombs, and they find Manny, to Iris's response: "Wait. What's he doing here?". Manny then opens up the firefly jar and he snaps his fingers. Iris is amazed at the "stars" and Manny tells him that they're for her, and Iris says "the constellations". Then, Iris holds Manny's hand and says: "Let's start with… Taurus!—the Bull! I think you'll like that one." The fireflies then form the shape of a heart. [Source]

Cleo consoles a crying Iris, who is upset because she is having troubles with Manny. She wants Manny to open up to her more, but when she asks him what he's really feeling, he is unable to talk and just stares dumbly. Cleo suggests that if they can't have a real conversation together, she should consider breaking up with him, but Iris doesn't want to give up on him just yet.

Later at lunchtime, Iris is finally having the meaningful conversation she's always wanted.. unfortunately it's not with Manny, but with her Inner Monster app. When her Inner Monster says it knows exactly how she feels, Iris realizes she could use the app to figure out what Manny is really feeling.

Iris approaches Manny at the Casketball court, and swaps out her Inner Monster avatar with Manny's. Manny greets her with a casual "sup" and the Inner Monster translates it as him really saying "Every moment away from your fangtastic beauty has been an agonizing eternity." Iris is delighted, exclaiming that beneath Manny's rugged exterior beats the heart of a poet. Manny is confused by this, but the Inner Monster helpfully informs him it means she likes him. [Source]

The students are playing and running around in Decomposition Class. Mr Rotter comes in and stops it, yelling that it's decomposition class, not "Greet Social, in which to 'party down'". He tells them that he has no idea how lucky they are to go to a school like Monster High, and Frankie tells him that they do appreciate going to Monster High. Rotter tells them all enough, and that they have to write essays on why they think they belong at Monster High, puts a smoke bomb down, and comes back to remind that they he doesn't give A's. Clawdeen says she guesses they better get writing. Frankie then says she thinks she has a better idea. When they pose for the camera, Lorna McNessie does a photobomb. Frankie gives why she belongs at Monster High, then all the other ghouls give why they belong at Monster High, but when it comes to Gory Fangtell, she says she's welcomed enough though she's been a "teensy bit mean", which Cleo corrects her on. Next up is Kjersti Trollson, who says she belongs because here, she gets noticed. Next is Quill Talyntino, who says she collects shiny things. She says she belongs at Monster High, because when she thought people were going to laugh, they didn't. Next up is Rider, who says he belongs because people get him. He says if he sets his mind to it, he can do anything, and Finnegan says this while spinning around in his wheelchair crazily. Frankie is then up, saying "we" belong at Monster High because every monster is welcome, freaky flaws and all. Mr Rotter at the end gives A's to everyone after watching that heartfelt, warm video. Notes[]

  • Iris started out as a backgrounder when she debuted early on in the cartoon. Her model used to sometimes come with a glitch that made most of her hair disappear and since Volume 2 she also has a purple variant walking around.
  • The green cyclopes that appear in "Desperate Hours" and "Monster Mashionals Part 1" may use Iris's model, but aren't her.
