The dolls of Monster High belong to one of four size classes: preadolescent female, adolescent female, adult female, and adolescent male. Each group shares roughly the same body mold, ranging from 9.5 inches for the preadolescent female body mold, 10.5 inches for the adolescent female body mold, and 11 inches for the adult female and adolescent male body molds. The bodies are made from ABS plastic, while the heads are made from soft PVC. Unlike with most of the bodies, each character has a unique head mold. The hair is made of saran or kanekalon fibers, though most of the male dolls have molded plastic hair. The dolls feature 11 articulation points. The female molds lack articulated ankles, while the boys rarely have articulated wrists.
The dolls and accessories are manufactured in Indonesia and China. The degree of noticeability of difference between dolls and accessories manufactured in Indonesia and dolls and accessories manufactured in China differs between releases. Also, prior to December 2012, all dolls were packaged with stands and brushes of appropriate color. Since then, stands and brushes have been absent from certain lines and those that do have them have them all in the same color, usually black or grey.
Each doll comes with a unique haircut and unique outfit, though sometimes a piece of clothing may be reused in different colors for another doll. Some dolls are only sold in multipacks or with a playset. Core line dolls are always packaged with diaries, an extra that is only included in some other doll lines. The first doll of a character released in the core line have the character's pet included.
In addition to the doll lines, there are accessory lines, which consist of clothes or playsets. A special type of dolls are the Create-a-Monster dolls, which are sold in parts and invite one to put together dolls according to one's tastes. And lastly, the Monster High line of plushies is promoted alongside the doll line.

Basic
Wave 1 consisted of the 'Basic' dolls of Frankie Stein, Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura, Lagoona Blue, Cleo de Nile and Deuce Gorgon. a later sale of Ghoulia Yelps and Holt Hyde soon were anounced.
The Comic-Con exclusive Frankie Stein doll was rendered in black and white.
Dawn of the Dance
Ready for a killer night out dancing? Well, these ghouls have their best scary cute outfits on hand, and are ready to party all night long! The series consists of Frankie, Cleo, Clawdeen, Deuce, Ghoulia, And Lagoona. There is also an exclusive Draculaura that comes in a 3 pack along with Frankie and Clawdeen that is a WalMart Exclusive
Gloom Beach
Frankie is just sparking at the bolts for her first Spring Break at Gloom Beach! Join her and Jackson Jekyll, Cleo De Nile, Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura, and Ghoulia Yelps (only in an exclusive target 5 pack, consisting of all the girl dolls, but not Jackson) for a killer time on the water.

This Toy's R' Us exclusive 3-pack contains Draculaura and Cleo De Nile in fearleading oufits and Ghoulia Yelps, the fan. Cleo has a megaphone, Draculaura has pom-poms, and Ghoulia has a foam-finger and and a Monster High flag.

Join Lagoona, Frankie and Ghoulia as they survive the horrors of high school, with a little help from their handwritten Survival Guides of course!
Dead Tired
Get ready for a slumber party where no one sleeps! Everyone is pumped and ready for Ghoul's Night In with movies, music and more. The series consists of Frankie, Draculaura, Cleo, Ghoulia, Clawdeen, And Lagoona. Each character has their own bed/set. Frankie has her Mirror Bed, Draculaura has her Coffin Bed, Cleo has a Vanity, but not a bed, Clawdeen has her Bunk Bed, and Lagoona has her Hydration Station. Basic 3
Also called 'Campus Stroll', this includes the introduction of basic Toralei Stripe, Nefera de Nile and Operetta. Two gift packs, Clawdeen and Howleen Wolf, and Purrsephone and Meowlody are also a part of this line. Toralei, Nefera, and Operetta have already been released, Toralei in 2011, the rest in 2012. The Howleen and Clawdeen Wolf 2-pack is available in the UK exclusively at Argos. In the US, the Howleen and Clawdeen Wolf pack is available exclusively at Target. The Purrsephone and Meowlody 2-pack is available exclusively at Toys 'R Us.
Sweet 1600
Draculaura is finally 1600, and she's invited all her friends for a totally fangtastic party! Be there or be square. Included in the line are Draculaura, Frankie Stein, Clawdeen Wolf, Clawd Wolf and C.A. Cupid. A special Draculaura doll, bundled with a second release of the Roadster, was released around Christmas 2012 as a JCP exclusive.[1]
Skull Shores
Lagoona Blue, Ghoulia Yelps, Abbey Bominable, Draculaura, and Gillington "Gil" Webber are all on a fabulous island adventure. Each is dressed up in their best island getaway get-ups, and ready to soak up all the sun and surf! A Skull Shores Frankie Stein has been produced in all black and white. An exclusive 5-pack containing Ghoulia Yelps, Draculaura, Cleo de Nile, Clawdeen Wolf, and a colored Frankie Stein, was released around Christmas 2012 at Target.[1]
2012
Basic 4
Expected to be part of a Basic 4 line-up are Jackson Jekyll, Robecca Steam, Venus McFlytrap and Rochelle Goyle. The Monster High Facebook page confirmed that Rochelle and Jackson will be out in May, and Robecca and Venus in August.
Coffin Bean playset
The Coffin Bean playset is, for now, a line-less playset. There are two versions of it. The regular version hit stores in late April, and contained a Clawdeen Wolf doll. An exclusive version was released around Christmas and contained an additional Draculaura doll. This version was only available at Costco.[1]
Scooter and Powder Room
Ghoulia's Scooter and Draculaura's Powder Room are two playsets released in late April. There are two versions of them, ones with Ghoulia and Draculaura dolls, and ones without. The playsets with dolls are exclusive to Toys"R"Us.
Fashion pack dolls
Called "Customized Assortment", these dolls are exclusive to Kohl’s and contain a Clawdeen Wolf and an Operetta doll wearing clothes similar to the fifth fashion pack line. Differences include Clawdeen wearing a dress instead of pants and Operetta wearing a mask instead of sunglasses. The dolls will be released around Christmas.[1]
Dot Dead Gorgeous
Dot Dead Gorgeous is an upcoming doll series with a Polka Dot Dance Party theme. Lagoona Blue, Operetta and Spectra Vondergeist are the regular dolls of this line and expected for July.[2] Around Christmas, Walmart will release an exclusive 3-pack containing Draculaura, Abbey Bominable and Ghoulia Yelps.[1]
Skultimate Roller Maze
Skultimate Roller Maze is an upcoming doll series with a sports theme. Frankie Stein, Ghoulia Yelps, Lagoona Blue and Operetta are to be part of this line.[3] Kmart will have an exclusive 2-pack featuring Ghoulia Yelps and Abbey Bominable in stores around Christmas time.[1]
Dead Tired
An exclusive continuation of the of bedtime-themed dolls was announced and shown at Toy Fair 2012. It is exclusive to Kmart and released around Christmas time. The continuation includes dolls of Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf, and Abbey Bominable.[1]
Scary Tales
A fairytale-themed series of three dolls, Frankie Stein dressed as Threaderella (Cinderella), Draculaura as Snow Bite (Snow White), and Clawdeen Wolf as Little Dead Riding Wolf (Little Red Riding Hood). The dolls will be released around Christmas time and are exclusive to Target.[1]
Roadster Draculaura
Around Christmas, the Roadster will be re-released containing an exlusive Draculaura doll as a JC Penny exlusive. [4]
Ghouls Rule
Ghouls Rule is an upcoming doll series that combines a halloween theme with a ball theme. Frankie Stein, Cleo de Nile, Clawdeen Wolf and Draculaura are confirmed to be part of this line.[5]
