Centaurs are made to have the upper body of a human and lower body half as a horse. They are Ancient Greek mythical creatures often said to have been born of Ixion and Nephele. Another version, however, makes them children of a certain Centaurus, who mated with the Magnesian mares. Like minotaurs and harpies, they are meant to be half/part human, part/half animal. They are occasionally known as hippocentaurs.

Monster High
Avea is a girl who eats apples and oats just like a real horse. She also eats corn, oats and alfalfa. Little is known about Archer or Tina Hay, but Archer speaks in horse tongue instead of English and has a crush on Nightmare, while Tina Hay is a Monster High celebrity.

Etymology
In Greek, they are known as Κένταυρος, which also translates to: "Kéntauros" in transliteration. While in Latin, the creatures are known as centaurus.
