When Cleo accidentally releases the Boogey Man's shadow nightmares from a mysterious box at Twyla's house, the ghouls must figure out howl to get these chilling escapees to go back in.
Summary[]
Howleen, Clawdeen, Frankie, Cleo and Jinafire are invited to Twyla's house for a study session. They initially have some trouble finding the front door, as there's several of them. Howleen spots the real door and performs a secret knock, calling Twyla to let them in. She leads her guests through the shadowy and crooked corridors to a room where they can study. Cleo bumps into a large box while entering the room, which Twyla warns not to open because it belongs to her father. However, when she leaves to get snacks, Cleo's curiosity gets the better of her, and she peeks inside the box, resulting in a swarm of shadow nightmares to escape.
As the girls run for cover, Twyla returns. They beg her to put the shadow nightmares back in the box, but she doesn't know how to do that either. Cleo tries to simply order them back in, but that only has them targeting her. Jinafire spots a message on the side of the box, which reads that the shadow nightmares will only return when the magic word is uttered. The girls try out various stereotypical magic words, but to no avail. Finally, in desperation, Twyla asks the shadow nightmares to please go back into the box. It turns out that "please" is the magic word, and the shadow nightmares instantly return to the box.
Twyla admits this escapade was fun and suggests they open her father's other boxes as the girls emerge from their hiding places. Cleo vehemently objects and recommends that they please just stay where they are and study.
