Avea Trotter and her fellow hybrid students, Sirena Von Boo, Bonita Femur, and Neighthan Rot, have just transferred to Monster High as the latest in the line of schools they've had to transfer out of due to their natures of having two different parents, such as a centaur and harpy for Avea. While the rest of the school keep their distance from the new arrivals, Avea does her best to convince her fellow hybrids that Monster High will be just like all the other schools they've been to, and will have to transfer out after a few days or so. After Frankie Stein returns from 1814 with several of her friends fused together into freaky hybrids themselves, following a humiliating dress rehearsal for Mr. Where's play on Monster High's history to celebrate the school's bicentennital, Avea has Neighthan speak to Frankie about having her and her fellow hybrids help Frankie's friends with getting them used to their new forms. Once Neighthan convinces Frankie to ask for their help, Avea agrees to help Frankie, and she and her fellow hybrids soon start to get accustomed to life at Monster High, while Frankie's freaky fused friends learn how difficult it is for the hybrids, with having two different parents, to get accepted for their birthright. Avea becomes the tutor to Draculaura and Robecca Steam's hybrid form, Dracubecca, teaching them how one of them needs to take charge and be leader of their combined body as they are too nice to each other, providing an obstacle course to help them gain better control. When Frankie's grandfather, Victor Frankenstein, accidentally unleashes his latest attempt to create life on the Monster High of 2014, Avea and the other hybrids help Frankie lure it back to Victor's secret lab, and bear witness as Frankie uses her very own life force to deactivate it and defuse her friends in the process, at the cost of her own life.
